Best Bargain in Wine and Food in Phoenix

This article discusses wine specials and stellar food at Postino, with two locations in Phoenix

You know the drill.  The days of overspending are over for some.  Realtors and mortgage guys have seen better days.  Some people have lost their jobs, others have watched their mortgage payments go through the roof.  But girls (and guys) still want to have fun!  So, you may need to be a little more creative about where and when you go out - and with my help, you can still have a great time without breaking the bank.

Postino - It is at the top of my list and should be at the top of yours.  On Monday and Tuesday nights after 8 you can score a stellar bruschetta (think ricotta and dates, apples and brie, sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese) AND a bottle of house wine.  It does not get much better than that.

Wait! At Postino, it does.  Sign up to be a fan of Postino on Facebook and every Wednesday you will see a secret word on the Facebook page.  Write on your business card and hand it to the staff when you show up at Postino.  What do you get for it?  $5 glasses of wine all night, yes, all night.  For you and all of your friends at your table.

Okay, so we now know that there are bargains to be had at Postino on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.  But what if you happen to play hookie from work or if you are out in the 'hood on the weekend?  Wine is ALWAYS $5 a glass till 5 p.m. EVERYDAY at Postino.  The wine list was just updated and it includes some very fine wines from around the world, some of them priced as high as $12 per glass.  If you only end up paying $5 per glass, you are getting to drink very fine wine for less than half price.  And that my friends, is why life is good.

Its not just wine, Postino also carries a good selection of fine beers.  And the food is to die for.  The paninis, the olives, the salads, the desserts, you just can not go wrong.  But go right, and go when you can drink fine wine for $5.  Or you can hang out with your main squeeze, split a scrumptous bruschetta and a bottle of wine and only drop $20.  Now is the perfect time to do just that, right out on the patio and enjoy the Arizona evenings.

The Arcadia location is quaint and is housed in the old Arcadia post office.  The Central location is new and the outdoor area there is something to see (as are the bathrooms).  The crowd is hip.  Parking is by valet only, but for us women drivers, it just makes sense to let someone else navigate through the crowded parking lot.  Don't miss it.
